Susosu Water continues to build momentum in the Mid-Atlantic with its recent rollout on GoPuff, the instant delivery platform. This new partnership adds to a growing list of retailers that includes Giant Foods and Whole Foods Market, and marks another step in the company’s region-by-region strategy for sustainable growth. Now sold in over 500 retail locations across the Mid-Atlantic, Susosu is laying the groundwork for long-term brand presence through disciplined expansion and targeted retail execution.
Founded in 2018 by Jheen Oh and Nadia Lizarazu, Susosu Water was born from a moment of personal discovery. After Oh’s father returned from South Korea with a pouch of hydrogen-infused mineral water, Oh was intrigued. Upon trying it, he experienced noticeable improvements in his own hydration, recovery, and energy. Further research revealed a growing body of scientific studies highlighting hydrogen water’s potential to enhance hydration, support antioxidant activity, and promote overall wellness. Oh and Lizarazu launched Susosu Water with the goal of bringing this functional hydration solution.
Susosu sources its water from a protected, 400-foot underground spring naturally rich in minerals. Using advanced Korean technology, the water is infused with molecular hydrogen, then packaged in proprietary pouches specifically engineered to preserve hydrogen content until the moment of consumption. The result is a refreshing, high-performance beverage designed to support modern lifestyles.
To bring their concept to scale, Susosu joined the Union Kitchen Accelerator in 2022. Union Kitchen provided the roadmap, ecosystem, and network to guide Susosu from idea to a growing regional brand. Through the Accelerator, Susosu refined its retail strategy, tested its product with real customers, and partnered with Union Kitchen’s distribution partner, District Distribution, to saturate the local market. Key retail accounts—including Giant Foods—followed, validating both product and strategy. Susosu landed Giant Foods after pitching their product during a tasting event at Union Kitchen's manufacturing facility.
A central pillar of Susosu’s growth has been its disciplined, phased approach. By focusing first on local traction and learning directly from customers, the team built the insights and operational experience necessary to scale sustainably. The recent launch on GoPuff reflects this foundation. Consumers across the Mid-Atlantic can now order Susosu Water directly from the GoPuff app or website and have it delivered to their doorsteps within 30 minutes—bringing on-demand access to functional hydration.
Susosu’s success has also attracted notable supporters. Former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas has become an enthusiastic advocate for the brand, regularly promoting Susosu to his audience across social media. His support underscores the brand’s growing position in the hydration and recovery category.
Now in its seventh year, Susosu Water stands as an example of what can happen when thoughtful sourcing, a phased approach, and a customer-first strategy come together.
