MasPanadas rolled out with national distributor, Sysco, adding to an impressive collection of grocers including Whole Foods Market and MOM’s Organic Market. They opened their own facility to support the rollouts with an eye for national expansion.
It’s a classic business story, one of many pivots. Starting as a catering company, founder and CEO, Margarita Womack, kept getting overwhelmingly positive feedback about her empanadas. She couldn’t keep them in stock! She decided to focus in on what people wanted, her empanadas. With the help of the Union Kitchen Accelerator program, Margarita transitioned from a Latin catering company to a packaged retail goods and packaged food service company.
MasPanadas provides customers a tasty, healthy, and convenient food option. It’s no surprise that they’re getting picked up by larger and larger accounts and distribution companies. Look for them in stores around the Washington, DC area and beyond!
