A local favorite caffeine destination among Washingtonians, the fast-growing Compass Coffee is expanding yet again with their 12th cafe!
First opened in 2014, Compass Coffee has grown into a District staple by providing real good coffee in the form of espresso drinks, signature coffee blends, teas, and a variety of other beverages
“Every day, our goal is your goal: to start your day off right and make sure it keeps going in the right direction. We strongly believe that a really good cup of coffee will do that. It does for us, and it can for you,” say founders and former mariners, Michael Haft and Harrison Suarez.
Haft and Suarez began drinking coffee as a source of energy, but soon developed a deep appreciation for the simple pleasure of coffee during their deployment in Afghanistan.
Haft and Suarez joined Union Kitchen in 2014 before opening their first shop in September that year in the historic Shaw neighborhood. And the rest is history!
In addition to their physical locations, Compass Coffee offers a variety of different coffee blends available in all of the Union Kitchen grocery stores and at Whole Foods Market. Grab a tin or visit your local Compass Coffee to celebrate the opening of their 12th location!
