Fifth generation Lebanese bakers and brothers, Rami Hasrouni and Rawad Hasrouni of Woodfire Bakery, have waited almost 100 years to share an olive oil that complements their authentic Lebanese pita chips, bread, and hummus. The launch of their two new olive oil bottle sizes has been worth the wait!
With a production facility in Vienna, VA, Woodfire Bakery offers its well-rounded lineup of authentic Mediterranean products all over the DMV! Their bread is sold in over 50 local Mediterranean restaurants and their pita chips stock the shelves in a handful of retail locations. Woodfire Bakery’s two new olive oil bottle sizes, 750ML and 1500ML, tie their Lebanese line together as the perfect addition to any Mediterranean meal!
Through Woodfire, Rami and Rawad continue their family’s legacy of cooking with traditional Lebanese recipes. In 1921, their family began baking thin, authentic Pita Bread in woodfired clay ovens known as tannurs. Today, Woodfire mixes the old with the new by making their traditional recipes with modern equipment. Rami and Rawad’s products pack the same taste, quality, and care their ancestors mastered almost 100 years ago.
When it came to olive oil, Woodfire Bakery knew it had to be Lebanese or nothing. However, sourcing olive oil from Lebanon and transporting it across the globe seemed daunting. Negotiating prices with international sellers, ensuring quality, and budgeting for customs costs are common challenges of importing. Luckily, Rami and Rawad’s Lebanese background and strong entrepreneurial skills allowed for as smooth of an import process as someone could hope for.
Woodfire’s new olive oil bottle sizes hit the shelves of Union Kitchen’s Stores this month. Pair your olive oil with a bag of Woodfire’s thinly sliced pita chips that come in three flavors: Zaatar, Seasalt, and Parmesan. Their pita chips are also available in Union Kitchen Stores throughout the city!
