Tanju Foods: An Indian-American Fusion flavor Journey

One of Union Kitchen's newest Accelerator Members, Tanju Foods, is ready for shelves! At just 25 years old, Taj Sohal, the founder of Tanju Foods, is the youngest restauranter in Washington DC as the owner of Glassey. Glassey is a restaurant where her mother Anju, head Chef and born and raised in Punjab, India, creates fusion Indian-American dishes inspired by Taj's upbringing, the never-ending parties of her childhood, and India's infamous street food. Building upon the success of Glassey, Taj went on to establish Tanju Foods with the goal of sharing the flavor-packed fusion dishes created by her and her mother with the world.

What truly sets Tanju Foods apart is the explosion of flavors in their dishes. Combining their expertise in Indian cuisine with a focus on fusion, they deliver authentic flavors with a modern twist. Each meal is carefully crafted using traditional spices, fresh ingredients, and culinary techniques passed down through generations. From aromatic curries to mouthwatering biryanis and delectable street food-inspired snacks, Tanju Foods offers a delightful culinary experience, in the frozen section, for Indian food enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Through her dedicated work with Union Kitchen, Taj took her idea and developed a market ready product that will soon launch into Union Kitchen's five retail locations! Tanju foods has now completed phase one of the four phase Accelerator, they will now focus on product market fit, connecting with local customers, improving their product, and ensuring they are making things people want.
