Matet's Kitchen Has LAUNCHED Their Filipino Lumpias!

Hey DC, authentic Filipino lumpias are HERE! Union Kitchen Accelerator Member, Matet's Kitchen, was inspired by a passion many can relate to - a love for Mom's cooking. Siblings Christopher and Marcia Silayan DeVore are taking their passion for their Mother's cooking and spreading the love. The company is not only named after Mom, but they also specialize in her authentic Filipino lumpia recipe. After lots of hustle with the team at the Union Kitchen Accelerator, Matet's Kitchen is launching into the market and hitting shelves at all Union Kitchen stores!

Christopher and Marcia got their start taking orders and going direct to consumers out of a shared kitchen in Frederick, Maryland. After they saw some success, they wanted to pivot and begin developing a CPG or consumer packaged good. They knew this was the best way to get their lumpias to as many customers as possible; this is where their work with Union Kitchen began.

By leveraging the Union Kitchen Ecosystem, they were able to adapt their recipe to maintain its delicious flavor after being frozen, developed packaging, nutrition labels, pricing structure, nailed down their mission, and developed a manufacturing process among many other things. After all their hard work, they have now completed Phase One of four of the Accelerator and are launching into stores with a market-ready product! They will now focus on engaging with customers, collecting feedback, and testing product-market fit.

With a focus on fresh ingredients and attention to detail, Matet's Kitchen will no doubt quickly become the go-to for Filipino food lovers in the DMV. They are launching with two flavors - vegan, featuring Beyond Meat, and heart vegetable; both chock full of amazing flavor.
