Jesse and Ben’s, a Washington D.C.-based frozen fry company and offshoot of the popular Swizzler restaurant group, is expanding once again—this time into Sprouts Farmers Market stores across the country. The move marks a key step in the brand’s mission to reimagine fast food by delivering high-quality, crave-worthy fries to freezers nationwide.
Crafted from Idaho-grown potatoes, Jesse and Ben’s Seasoned Fries are made with simple, clean ingredients—free from preservatives and artificial additives. The fries come in bold, crowd-pleasing flavors including Sea Salt, Rosemary Garlic, and Chesapeake Bay, and are cooked in high-quality oils with carefully selected spices that elevate a classic staple into something distinctive.
This national launch with Sprouts is a major milestone for Jesse and Ben’s. Known for its focus on health-forward and premium grocery offerings, Sprouts provides a strategic platform for the brand to reach new customers who prioritize quality and transparency in their food choices. The retail partnership further validates Jesse and Ben’s position in the better-for-you frozen snack category, while remaining rooted in the company’s original mission.
The brand was founded by Jesse Konig and Ben Johnson, who met as undergraduates at Wake Forest University. What began as a college venture serving nostalgic American eats from a food cart has evolved into a multi-channel business that includes Swizzler’s brick-and-mortar restaurants and a growing consumer packaged goods (CPG) line. After graduation, the duo relocated to Washington D.C.—Ben’s hometown—and purchased their first food truck in 2014. Swizzler quickly gained a following for its elevated takes on hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries, all made without synthetic ingredients or shortcuts. As Jesse put it, “It’s fun, nostalgic food without the mystery meat.”
Driven by a belief that fast food can be a force for good, Jesse and Ben set out to create what they call “Real American Eats”—a model that embraces convenience and indulgence without compromising quality or sustainability. With a growing customer base, Swizzler expanded into brick-and-mortar locations in Navy Yard and Capital One Arena, eventually bringing their most popular side dish—fries—into the retail space.
Since joining Union Kitchen's Accelerator in 2018, Jesse and Ben’s has benefited from strategic guidance, access to infrastructure, and a community of like-minded food entrepreneurs. Their evolution from food truck to grocery store shelves reflects the value of building with intention and scaling with support.
With the launch into Sprouts, Jesse and Ben’s is well positioned to introduce more consumers to a better kind of fast food—starting with fries that taste as good as they are made.
